HENRY CAVILL WILL SEE "THE COLD LIGHT OF DAY". J.J. ABRAMS BRINGING ROBOTS TO VICTORIAN ERA IN "BOILERPLATE"

It seems that super charming Henry Cavill, duke Charles Brandon of Suffolk from the cult TV series "The Tudors" is going ahead with his movie career after the finish of the popular historical saga. You already know that he will be the lead actor in "Immortals", a mythological tale set in war-torn ancient Greece where the young warrior, Theseus, leads his men into battle with the immortal Greek Gods to defeat evil and the powerful elder gods the Titans in order to save mankind (click to see pics). After this epic premieres in 2011, you can expect Henry in "The Cold Light of Day". Directed by Mabrouk El Mechri this action thriller will see Henry Cavill as an arrogant Wall Street stockbroker who gives into his family's wishes and takes a vacation in Spain, where his family gets kidnapped and he becomes entangled with government conspiracies and must uncover his father's deepest secret to return his family to safety.

J.J.Abrams, the man who managed to resurrect "Star Trek" saga, will produce the movie adaptation of graphic novel "Boilerplate: History's Mechanical Marvel". Created by Paul Guinan and Anina Bennett "Boilerplate" is a hybrid of a graphic novel and a picture book and tells the tale of history's first robot who fought alongside Teddy Rooosevelt, traveled to the South Pole and was even involved in the silent film business in a story that spans the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

ADORABLE POSTER FOR DISNEY'S "TANGLED". KRISTEN JOHNSTON IN "VAMPS". MYTHOLOGICAL BEINGS IN ACTION ADVENTURE "LORE"

Disney's supercharming animated movie "Tangled", which comes to cinemas this November, has just got its first delightfully creative poster. You've already seen the teaser for the film which stars Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi and is basically a new movie version of famous "Rapunzel" fairy tale about the long haired princess and her escape from the tower prison.

Remember famous Sally Solomon from one of TV's craziest sitcoms ever "3rd Rock From the Sun"? Well, it seems that talented comedian Kristen Johnston is back. She has joined Alicia Silverstone and Sigourney Weaver in "Vamps", a film about two female vampires in modern-day New York City who are faced with daunting romantic possibilities. Kristen Johnston will play a mother who thinks something is askew when her son brings one of the female vampires home to meet her.

Interesting graphic novel "Lore" will be adapted for the big-screen. According to "Heat Vision" the producers want to create an action-adventure franchise similar to "Men In Black", but this one will focus on mythological creatures. "Lore" follows a young man who reluctantly becomes a member of an elite secret order charged with protecting humanity from the beasts of folklore who invade our world.

FIRST TRAILER FOR "THOR". JAMES CAMERON AND GUILLERMO DEL TORO JOIN FORCES "AT THE MOUNTAINS OF MADNESS".

The first treat for today is a new magical poster for Zack Snyder's upcoming fantasy epic "Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga Hoole". The movie which tells the epic tale of an unusual world in which owls are heroes and warriors fighting for honour and peace, shot in brilliant new animation technique, is out this September with voices from Helen Mirren, Hugo Weaving, Geoffrey Rush, Abbie Cornish, Jim Sturgess, Ryan Kwanten, Sam Neill...

Second movie treat for today is an update on Guillermo Del Toro's new project. With the help of James Cameron, who will produce his next film, Del Toro will adapt "At the Mountains of Madness" a tale by H.P. Lovecraft. The movie will bring a chilling recollection of an Antarctic expedition's uncanny discoveries and their encounter with an untold menace in the ruins of a lost civilization.

Thanks to "MovieWeb" today's most delicious treat is the first exclusive trailer from "Thor" which was presented at ComicCon. Don't miss the stunning Odin's palace and court over at Asgard, which looks larger than life. Judging from the trailer I must admit I don't like any of the actors in these roles except the Thor, Chris Hemsworth himself, but the movie sure does seem like a really really really big thing coming to us in May 2011.

"DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES" TO LAST TILL 9TH SEASON. THANDIE NEWTON AND CILLIAN MURPHY IN "THE RETREAT". EDI GATHEGI IS DARWIN IN "X-MEN:FIRST CLASS"

Even though Marc Cherry, the creator of one of the best written and most charming shows ever "Desperate Housewives", said last spring that the witty show might end in the upcoming seventh season, it seems it will last till the ninth, which means we shall see three more seasons. Nothing is still certain, but according to Cherry an end date "is in negotiation". The new season, which starts this September on ABC will also bring some new characters to Wisteria Lane, and Marcia Cross, Teri Hatcher, Eva Longoria, Felicity Huffman ... will be joined by Vanessa Williams and Brian Austen Green (aka Mr. Megan Fox).

Last winter, I mentioned that gorgeous Thandie Newton will star in a new thriller "The Retreat" but it seems that the male lead has changed, instead of Jason Isaacs she will partner up with wonderfully talented Cillian Murphy. The two of them will play a husband and wife who rent a remote island cottage while trying to repair their marriage. One day they find a biohazard-suited soldier washed up on the beach, who warns them that everybody on the mainland has been killed by an airborne virus. That's when the psychological game and twists begin.

And "X-Men: First Class" has got a new cast member. Edi Gathegi from the "Twilight" saga, will play Darwin, a mutant which has the powers of self-protection and continuous circumstantial evolution, which allows him to adapt to any situation like growing gills if put underwater, or gaining night vision if too dark. Gathegi joins James McAvoy as Professor Xavier, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Caleb Landry Jones as Banshee and Lucas Till as Havoc, with Kevin Bacon as a villain.

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE TO STAR IN SF FILM "I'M.MORTAL". RIHANNA TO STAR IN SF ACTION "BATTLESHIP"

OK two pieces of news on insanely popular singers getting movie roles. First a good one: one of the most talented music stars, Justin Timberlake, has been offered the role in "I'm.Mortal", the sf movie directed by Andrew Niccol that I wrote about last month. The story takes place in a future where the aging gene has been eliminated and immortality is granted to those who can afford it, with "time" essentially becoming society's currency. Amanda Seyfried will play a girl who gets taken hostage by Justin's character (if he takes the role), who murdered a man for his "time" and goes on the run. Now, if this really happen, Justin and Amanda could possible become the most adorable movie couple ever. Justin Timberlake has already proved a few times before that he has serious acting skills as well, giving solid performances in "Edison",
"Alpha Dog" and will star in "The Social Network" and "Friends With Benefits".

The bad news is that pop-tart Rihanna will make her debut on film in what is already considered one of the most unpromising upcoming movies - "Battleship", a sf action which takes place across the seas, over the skies and land in a battle for planet survival against a superior alien force. Taylor Kitsch will be a naval officer who leads the fight while Alexander SkarsgÄrd will play his brother. This movie is basically an adaptation of Hasbro's naval combat board game and as some jester said somewhere around Internet today - when the aliens start attacking, Rihanna will tell everyone to get under her umbrella, ella, ella...e,e,e ... :)

EXCLUSIVE: SUPER SENSATIONAL FIRST TRAILER FOR "SUCKER PUNCH"

Now, I've been preparing you for this whole week - first with the images and then with the amazing character posters for next spring's fantasy action "Sucker Punch" and today I have the first exclusive trailer for you. Check it out and you'll be left breath-taken by the number of stunning scenes which will flash you in the trailer. As you know, starring Emily Browning and Vanessa Hudgens, "Sucker Punch" is a film about a young girl who is put into asylum from which she embarks on an unbelievable fantasy adventure with her new friends, the other girls from the mental institution. The movie is directed by the visual genious Zack Snyder whose previous movies "300" and "Watchmen" have set some new levels in the movie industry. Zack also has another movie coming out this Autumn - the mesmerizing epic tale with spellbinding animation "Legends of the Guardians: the Owls of Ga Hoole".

EXCLUSIVE CHARACTER POSTERS FOR "GREEN LANTERN"

Ok, so here's a real treat for the usual boring Monday: straight from the ComicCon I have for you the first official posters for the upcoming super hero flick "Green Lantern". The four unusual character posters show Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern, gorgeous Blake Lively as Carol Ferris, Mark Strong as Sinestro and Peter Sarsgaard as Hector Hammond. When connected these posters also reveal the amazing main tagline - In Brightest Day, In Blackest Night, No Evil Shall Escape My Sight! As you know, "Green Lantern" comes out June 2011. How do you like the posters?

SUPER FREAKY POSTER FOR NEW GODZILLA AND SUPER SEXY POSTER FOR NEW NIKITA

During the ComicCon yesterday, Legendary Pictures (a studio which made movies such as "300", "Watchmen", "Dark Knight") has revealed the first image of how the famous monster Godzilla will look like in a new version of the famous movie which is supposed to come to cinemas sometime in 2012. Check out the green cutie in the first exclusive picture :)

Now if you like to watch music talent shows, this might interest you: you already know that two possible candidates to replace Simon Cowell in "American Idol" jury are two good guys Harry Connick Jr and Chris Isaak, but it seems that another (but a bad) one is lobbying for this role as well: believe it or not it's Donald Trump himself. Meanwhile, over in the UK, Simon Cowell has to find someone to replace Cheryl Cole (a British pop singer better known as a footballer's wife who can't really sing), who is recovering from malaria, in the jury for "X Factor". It seems that her place will be taken by the super stunning beauty and amazing singer Nicole Scherzinger.

Something that might excite my boys and I just had to show it to them is the exclusive new poster for the upcoming CW show "Nikita" (a reboot of the old show with Peta Wilson), which shows the main actress Maggie Q all sexy and steamy, which is why the tag-line for the show is "Looks Do Kill". Starting this September with Maggie Q and Shane West, "Nikita" will follow the adventures of a girl which was in her teen years rescued from death row by Division, who faked her execution and told her she was being given a second chance to start a new life and serve her country. Little did she know that she was being trained as a spy and assassin. Check out the teaser for the show as well:

ZACHARY LEVI MIGHT BE THE NEW SUPERMAN. FIRST FOOTAGE FROM MEDIEVAL EPIC "IRONCLAD"

Now, since Mark Ruffalo officially got the role of Hulk and Jeremy Runner will be Hawkeye in "The Avengers", the world needs a new superhero movie casting mystery. So, here's a charming one: talented comedian Zachary Levi from "Chuck" has openly admitted he would like to be the lead star of the new "Superman" reboot. As you may already know Jonathan Nolan (the brother of the inglorious director) has apparently been attached to direct the new Superman film possibly entitled "The Man of Steel". According to some sites, the pre-production has already begun and Zachary Levi has reportedly even auditioned for the movie.

Yesterday, ComicCon has organized a panel for the medieval action "Ironclad" and the first exclusive footage from the film was also released showing James Purefoy and Paul Giamatti in a battle for a castle. "Ironclad" is set in 13th century England and tells the story of a formidable Knight Templar (James Purefoy) and his "Magnificent Seven" who defended historic Rochester Castle against the tyrant, King John (Paul Giamatti), and his mercenary army. Other cast members include Richard Attenborough, Robert Carlyle, Bob Hoskins, Pete Postlethwaite, Brian Cox, William Moseley, Jason Flemyng, Mackenzie Crook, Kate Mara ...

MINDBLOWING TRAILER FOR "PRIEST" WITH PAUL BETTANY. SAM WORTHINGTON IS "DAN DARE". JEREMY RENNER IS HAWKEYE IN "THE AVENGERS"

Are you ready for a busy Saturday over at ComicCon in San Diego? Here we go: last winter, I told you that Sam Worthington might play pilot of the future in "Dan Dare", and now it's official. Sf adventure "Dan Dare" will follow a gallant chief pilot of the Interplanet Space Fleet who goes on exciting adventures set on planets around galaxy.

Another rumor that I mentioned before has been confirmed yesterday at ComicCon: Joss Whedon has revealed that Jeremy Renner from "The Hurt Locker" will really play Hawkeye in "The Avengers". As you remember Josh Holloway, Nathan Fillion and Justin Theroux were among actors mentioned as possible actors for the role. Hawkeye is the purple archer, a trained athlete and tactician who is very skilled with the bow and arrows.

A movie which has excited a lot of you in recent months, sf vampire epic "Priest" finally has a trailer. Starring Paul Bettany, Karl Urban, Cam Gigandet, Maggie Q, Stephen Moyer, MĂ€dchen Amick, Christopher Plummer ... "Priest" is set in a world ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampire and follows a warrior priest who turns against the church to track down a murderous band of vampires who have kidnapped his niece. Check out the mind blowing trailer.

KARL URBAN IS THE NEW JUDGE DREDD! SIX AMAZING "SUCKER PUNCH" CHARACTER POSTERS. JOSS WHEDON IS DIRECTING "THE AVENGERS"

Great news from the ComicCon in San Diego people: my own favourite Karl Urban has confirmed yesterday to "MovieWeb" that he will take the lead role in the remake of the sf blockbuster "Judge Dredd". Directed by Pete Travis and coming to cinemas in 2012, "Judge Dredd" will be set in the Third Millennium where a powerful and efficient hybrid of the police and judicial system has given birth to group of new guardians of the law with the power to dispense instant justice and punishment. These judges are law enforcer, jury and executioner at the same time.

Another news that might excite some of you is that Joss Whedon officially confirmed yesterday that he will, after all, really direct "The Avengers", a movie which will gather together some of the biggest superheroes such as Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk ... The film is set for 2012 release.

And a few days ago I gave you the first picture from Zack Snyder's ("300", "Watchmen") 2011 film "Sucker Punch", but today I have six absolutely amazing character posters from the movie which will follow a girl who is trying to hide from the pain caused by her evil stepfather and lobotomy. She ends up in mental institution and while there she starts to imagine alternative reality. She plans to escape from that imaginary world but to do that she needs to steal five objects before she is caught by a vile man. These stunning posters show her and the five very unique girls which will join her in the adventure.

UPDATES ON PERSIAN EPIC "XERXES". BRAD PITT TO STAR IN "WORLD WAR Z". "ASTRO CITY" COMIC BOOK ADAPTATION

A few months ago, I've showed you the first images from "Xerxes", the upcoming graphic novel from the author of Spartan epic "300", but now director Zack Snyder has officially revealed that they've bought the rights for the movie adaptation and that they are already writing the script. However, it won't be neither a prequel or sequel to "300" but an independent epic. "Xerxes" will follow Themistocles and the Battle of Artemisium, which coincidentally happens on the exact same three days as the Battle of Thermopylae ,which was the basis of "300". The film will first quickly retell the reasons of the Persian wars, starting off at the Battle of Marathon and then it will go back to Themistocles finding out that Persians are invading again.

"Astro City", one of the praised comic books from the 90's, will also get its movie version. This comic book series follows Samaritan, Winged Victory, the Hanged Man and Jack-in-the-Box who patrol the skies, protect a city and uphold justice, while the "normal" people have to cope with a life surrounded by danger and wonder, their lives interacting with those of the heroes above.

HOLLYWOOD SPY already wrote last year that "World War Z", the graphic novel which describes the history of the zombie war and chronicles a worldwide zombie outbreak through the first-hand accounts of survivors, will be made into a movie, but now it seems that Paramount has also bought the adaptation rights for the sequels of the novel and the studio has also officially hired Brad Pitt to star in the film. Marc Forster ("Quantum of Solace") is still attached to direct "World War Z".

COOL PROMO POSTERS FOR "THOR" AND "CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER". "FREAKSHOW" AND "THE STRANGE CASE OF HYDE" COMIC BOOK ADAPTATIONS

You know when the ComicCon starts we get a lot of movie treats: "Yahoo Movies" has released today two amazing promo posters which will be used during ComicCon for two of the Marvel's most anticipated films "Thor" and "Captain America: The First Avenger". Marvel is organizing a big panel at San Diego ComicCon this Saturday, and hopefully they might release some pictures and images for both "Thor" and "Captain America: The First Avenger" on that occasion, beside these art work posters.

And when we are mentioning "Thor", Mark Protosevich, the screenwriter who adapted Thor for the big screen, is planning to adapt another comic book: it is possible that he will also direct "Freakshow", the film version of the upcoming comic book in which the story revolves around five young people who are turned into mutants with special powers after a chemical explosion and they must decide whether to use their powers to save the city or to exact revenge on those responsible for the explosion.

Another comic book to be adapted into a film is "The Strange Case of Hyde". This Dark Horse comic follows Dr. Jekyll and his alter-ego Mr. Hyde, bringing a fresh view of the famous story by making the split personality the center of a Victorian-era action-adventure that sees him go head-to-head against a historical villain.

WENTWORTH MILLER IS HOLLYWOOD SPY'S BEST TV HUNK. NEW POLL: THE HOTTEST SERBIAN BEAUTY

As you can see, HOLLYWOOD SPY's poll on YOUR FAVOURITE TV HUNK is over, and the best one has won: Wentworth Miller took the first place with 44% of your 155 votes, with Kevin McKidd in the second place with 17% of votes, followed by Julian McMahon (12%) and Eric Mabius (11%). I knew Wentworth is one of the most beloved and most popular TV stars, so I'm not surprised with his victory.
I've personally discovered him in the charming mini series "Dinotopia" in which he played a nice young boy lost on an island kingdom in which people live together with talking dinosaurs. But he got his big break a few years later when he appeared in Mariah Carey's videos "It's Like That" and "We Belong Together". He helped her come back to the music scene in a great way, but he kinda stole the show from her with his outstanding charisma and presence, and we all knew the star was born right there and right then. The rest is history - Wentworth got the leading role in one of the world's most popular TV shows "Prison Break" after which he became one of the hottest television actors with a huge fan-base. He has also starred in some movies - "Underworld", "The Human Stain" (in which he showed his dramatic talents as well), and we shall see him next year in "Resident Evil: Afterlife".
Did you know that he is almost 40??? That he was born in England, that he graduated English language over at Princeton, that he is also writing screenplays. The reason why we love him so much, beside his work, is also the fact that he is a very private person, likes spending time at home, reading, relaxing, he is not a wild and immature star and is a true role model for all the young people around the world. A truly lovable young man.

Now let's go to our new poll. I know this one might not have as many voters as usually, but I decided to introduce you to the hottest beauties from my home country of Serbia. I tried to choose the ones who are popular and known outside Serbia as well, so you might have heard for some of them. So, in the next two weeks you can vote as much as you like for one of these lovely Serbian ladies: pop star Ana Nikolic, pop singer and songwriter Ivana Jordan, pop star and Hollywood actress Holly Valance, TV actress Sasha Alexander, top model Ivana Kukric, tennis star Ana Ivanovic, top model Maja Latinovic and music star Jelena Karleusa. Vote on, and if you click on their names you might see some of their videos or work (guys mustn't miss those links :).

SF WYAT EARP BY SAM RAIMI. "STAR TREK2" SHOOTING IN JANUARY. WILL SMITH MIXING VAMPIRES AND BIBLE IN "THE LEGEND OF CAIN"

According to "Variety" Sam Raimi has been signed by Dreamworks to direct a modern version of Wyat Earp, which will basically be a movie adaptation of the graphic novel "Earp: Saints for Sinners". This post-apocalyptic sf flick will be a modern re-imagining of Western hero Wyatt Earp as he fights outlaws in a ravaged society where the only boomtown left is Las Vegas. The first artwork should be revealed later this week at ComicCon. Does this mean that Raimi has given up on doing "Warcraft" movie?

Admittedly, Will Smith has never really been an original actor who stars in films with unique ideas and plots, but this time he really outdid himself: he will star in "The Legend of Cain" which will pretty much mix Bible and vampires. It will be a modern retelling of the Biblical story of Cain mixed with vampires with Smith as the title character. Oh, what would Tinseltown do without such a movie?

And some good news for all of the Trekkies: "Star Trek 2" will start shooting in January. We are waiting to hear the first news about the plot, but the sequel to the mega successful and critically acclaimed first part, should come to cinemas in summer 2012 and it will bring the amazing cast, including Karl Urban, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Chris Pine, Anton Yelchin, Simon Pegg and John Cho, on a mission again.

And I also have the first teaser from "The Wind in the Willows", the mix of live-action and animatronics in the new adaptation of the famous Kenneth Grahame's tale this time done by WETA, Peter Jackson's CGI workshop. The actual shooting of the film will start later this year but they made this very early teaser which is very dark and doesn't really reveal anything, but its ending is rather intriguing and charming, so check it out. In the film, the animals join forces to save their land from a sinister plot that threatens to destroy an uneasy truce between the peaceful animals of the Willows and what remains of Mankind.

STUNNING NEW "THOR" IMAGE. "SPARTACUS: GODS OF THE ARENA" CASTING. "FLASH GORDON" UPDATE

If you expected that Kenneth Branagh's "Thor" will have a stunning visual design as some of his previous movies ("Hamlet"), you were right: judging from the new image from "Thor" the sets will be larger than life. The latest pic published by "LA Times" shows Thor (Chris Hemsworth) kneeling in front of Odin (Anthony Hopkins). The pic also shows Frigga (Rene Russo), Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Hogun (Tadanobu Asano) and Fandral (Joshua Dallas).

While Andy Whitfield recovers from cancer, Starz is preparing "Spartacus" prequel which will be called "Spartacus: Gods of the Arena" and it seems they already have some new cast members: Dustin Clare will play Gannicus, the champion gladiator in the House of Batiatus before Spartacus.Jaime Murray ("Dexter") will take the role of a Capua social climber while Marisa Ramirez ("General Hospital") will be a slave girl. Andy Whitfield will have just a brief appearance in the six-part prequel. The second season of "Blood and Sand" will start shooting after "Gods of the Arena" and will be aired sometime later in 2011.

And Breck Eisner has talked to "MovieWeb" about his adaptation of "Flash Gordon" saying that the 80's sf classic was campy with bad special effects and that his version will not be a remake since it will go back to strips from the '30s bringing an updated version in the form of an action and adventure sci-fi film. Eisner also said that it will be an origins story for Flash who will go to Mongo to save the planet kinda like a superhero. New "Flash Gordon" could be turned into a franchise if the film proves successful.

SUNDAY PICS: JULIANNE MOORE NUDE FOR BVLGARI, BETTY WHITE WITH NUDE BOYS, NEW "CONAN" AND "TRON" IMAGES

Ah, what's a girl to do for her self-esteem after she's passed 40? Pose naked herself, or pose with naked boys around her? Julianne Moore chose to do the first thing by posing nude in the sizzling new marketing campaign for fashion house Bvlgari. Wearing just a few strategically placed handbags along with a couple of cute baby lions, and nothing much else, Julianne is looking quite steamy ahead of the premiere of her new critically praised movie "The Kids Are All Right".

On the other hand, our favourite (and the only living) Golden Girl, adorable and absolutely divine Betty White has decided to pose with some naked boys for a definite must-have - her new calendar for 2011 (yep, you read it right) which will hit stores in September. And I must add that our dear girl is just 88 :))

You must also check out two stunningly beautiful and fresh new banners for the upcoming sf movie "Tron: Legacy" featuring two gorgeous young people - Garrett Hedlund and Olivia Wilde. The movie is out this December.

And for all my girls, here are two new pics of hunky Jason Momoa looking all dangerous in the remake of "Conan". The epic adventure will come to cinemas next year and is directed by Marcus Nispel.

FIRST IMAGE FROM ZACK SNYDER'S "SUCKER PUNCH"

You know that Zack Snyder, the director we love so much for his stunning visual and directorial vision seen in "300", "Watchmen", "Legend of the Guardians", is having the premiere of his new movie "Sucker Punch" in March 2011. "Entertaining Weekly" has published the first picture from it and you can see its female cast - Emily Browning as Baby Doll, Jena Malone as Rocket, Vanessa Hudgens as Blondie, Jamie Chung as Amber, Abbie Cornish as Sweetpea and there's also Scott Glenn in the background. Set in the 1960's "Sucker Punch" will follow a teenage girl (Emily Browning) whose evil stepfather (Jon Hamm) sends her to an asylum where she starts to imagine alternative reality and meets other teen patients (Vanessa Hudgens, Abbie Cornish, Jamie Chung and Jena Malone). She then retreats into a multi-level fantasy world where she and her friends are the star attractions in a Moulin Rouge-esque night club brothel, and sexy warriors battling robotic Germans in a stylized version of the First World War. They also fight dragons and knights in a medieval world, kick alien butt on a futuristic planet, and battle giant samurai in an ancient temple. So pretty much a crazy movie with crazy characters and crazy visual design :)

TIM BURTON'S AND JOHNNY DEPP'S "DARK SHADOWS" PROJECT MOVES ON WITH A NEW WRITER

I remember that whenever I've published something on Tim Burton in the past a lot of you mentioned in your comments that you would like him to just quit all his plans and finally start working on his version of "Dark Shadows". Well good news for you: according to "Deadline NY", Tim Burton has hired Seth Grahame Smith to write the script so that they might start shooting the film in January 2011. If you remember, Seth Grahame Smith is the author of the bestselling novel "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" which will be adapted into a film by Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov, and now he will work with Burton again on "Dark Shadows" with a new and unique approach to the material. "Dark Shadows" was cult supernatural TV show from the 60's full of vampires, monsters, witches, werewolves, ghosts and zombies as the main characters. In Tim Burton's adaptation, Johnny Depp is supposed to play the vampire patriarch Barnabas Collins.

FIRST OFFICIAL PICTURE OF RYAN REYNOLDS AS "GREEN LANTERN". JENNIFER LAWRENCE IS THE NEW MYSTIQUE IN "X-MEN FIRST CLASS"

You didn't think I would let you go without your daily dose of super hero news? Well, first of all probably the most popular news of the day was the first official picture of Ryan Reynolds as "Green Lantern" which appeared around the Net today. It is actually the cover of the upcoming issue of "Entertain ment Weekly" which shows Ryan for the first time in the truly magnificent and modern "Green Lantern" suit. As you know Ryan plays Hal Jordan, a cocky test pilot who becomes an intergalactic superhero with a power ring which can conjure virtually anything he can dream up, so he uses his will and imagination as superpowers. How do you like the look of his suit???

I also have new official updates on "X-Men: First Class" casting: young actress Jennifer Lawrence who got praise for her role this year in indie movie "Winter's Bone" has signed on to play young Mystique who was played marvelously before by stunning Rebecca Romijn in the previous parts of the mutant saga. And the rumor about Kevin Bacon getting a villain role in the same movie has now been officially confirmed - he will really play one of the bad guys in "X-Men: First Class".

ELIZABETH BANKS IS LIVE ACTION "TINKERBELL". NEW "HERCULES" EPIC. MARK RUFFALO MIGHT BE THE NEW HULK. "CASSASTAR" TRAILER!

As you've noticed from my recent daily updates Hollywood has gone crazy about fairy tales so I have another fairy tale movie adaptation to announce today: Disney will make "Tink", a live-action film about the adorable Tinkerbell produced by Adam Shankman and McG. The good news is that blond angel Elizabeth Banks ("30s Rock", "Scrubs") is set to take the lead role in the film which will focus on the mischievous nature of the Tinkerbell.

Although the public got excited with the news of Joaquin Phoenix possibly taking the role of Hulk in "The Avengers" from Edward Norton, it seems that we have a new candidate for the role: according to "Deadline NY" Mark Ruffalo is already in final talks to portray The Hulk in "The Avengers". It seems that after "Thor", "Spiderman" and "Captain America" we now have a new casting mystery to deal with in next few weeks :)

A news I mentioned a year ago is hot again: Brett Ratner ("X-Men: The Last Stand") is planning a live-action movie about the famous mythological hero "Hercules". According to "MovieWeb" Avi Lerner ("The Expendables") has been working on the script for over three years and is now looking to use the current trend of epic movies in cinemas to film his story.

And something exclusive which has just come up: check out the first rockin' trailer for CASSASTAR, the upcoming sf book from my great friend Alex. J. Cavanaugh. The book is out October 19th, and you will be honoured to read the worldwide exclusive interview with Alex on the same day here at Hollywood Spy :) Congrats, on the great book trailer, Alex!
